🤟 Learn your first ASL family sign — MOTHER

Open your right hand wide, fingers spread. Tap your thumb to your chin — twice.

That's it. That's MOTHER.

Card 1 — Starting position 5-hand, thumb tip resting at your chin. Palm faces you. Fingers point up.

Card 2 — The motion Two quick taps, thumb to chin. Short, relaxed. Not a full knock — just a light touch × 2.

Card 3 — Ending position Hand drifts slightly forward after the second tap. Arm relaxed and natural.

Card 4 — Use it "Where is your mother?" → sign MOTHER after WHERE + YOUR. Works in any family conversation.

Month of May = family signs. One sign a day, 9am. Follow along if you're just starting out — each sign builds on the last.
